 FAQs

  • Occupational therapy focuses on whatever occupies the client’s time. For adults, this includes work, leisure, self-care, care of others and care of one’s home. Occupational therapists address anything that challenges a client to acquire or re-learn occupations. For more information, visit www.aota.org.

  • According to the American Counseling Association, “Professional counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. Counselors work with clients on strategies to overcome obstacles and personal challenges that they are facing.”

  • You can call our office at 770-393-9901 or email us at info@ittsforchildren.com to set up an evaluation. Please note that during high frequency times (the beginning and end of school semesters), we may have a waiting list for evaluations.

  • We understand that making a phone call or sending an email to request an evaluation can be emotionally fraught. It can be helpful and reassuring to read from websites that provide information without being overwhelming. We recommend:

  • You can prepare yourself by identifying your strengths, affinities, and interests as well as areas for growth and change. Bring along any reports from work, school, or other professionals that you would like to share which may provide some insights into your general level of function.
